Because a normal semester is 15 weeks. This program is 12. And I haven’t been home all summer, yet during the semester I go home AT LEAST once. (fall break, thanksgiving, spring break, you know.)
I am SO ready to leave Memphis.

Good to know I’m not the only crazy person whose already done that…haha. Yours sounds entirely too confusing though. I have entirely too many classes that I have to take, gah.
Well, I mean, I can’t plan it out class for class or anything because the schedule of courses hasn’t been released for any of it. But I can safely say that I know what I want out of the next three years, hahaha. Mine is confusing because I have options on how to satisfy requirements, whereas your requirements are laid out for you and you just have to follow the pattern.

- Chinese major (not including CHI2231 or my summer in Beijing): 15 credits
- Political Science major: 18 credits
- Gen-Ed requirements: 9 credits (6 of which are icky science classes, 3 are diversity. i know, i lol that such a thing is a requirement.)
- Honors program: 9 credits (maybe I can get these classes to cover some other requirements? Poli sci maybe?)
- Total credits still required: 51 credits
- 51 credits in 3 years is definitely doable, seeing as I did 34 my freshman year.
- As always, though, there is a catch. The maximum amount of hours I am allowed to be enrolled in throughout my career at UF is ten percent more than the degree requires, which is 120.
- I’ve already earned 69 hours (thank you, APs…) so those 51 left will bring me up to 120.
- I’m only allowed 12 more credits than those requirements?!
- How am I going to get the spread required to get Phi Beta Kappa if I only take major classes?!
- What about the classes that I want to take that have nothing to do with my major (E.G. Beginning Hindi, Secret Police Under Communism, and Modern Europe and the Crisis of the Intelligentsia)?!
- Need I even mention the study abroad programs I want to do over the other summer I have between my junior and senior years? (Summer A: Tokyo/Florence; Summer B: Cambridge/Utrecht)
- I’M SO CONFUSED >_____<
